Appearance

This bread comes in a waxed paper bag with a transparent plastic window. I'm a little confused about the name, though, the wrapper is a bit ambiguous, so I'll go with the name on the receipt.

This is not a good-looking loaf. In fact, if I were still in high school, various scatological similes would easily come to mind (thank goodness those years are behind me). I will therefore generously describe it as akin to a giant slug. The sesame seeds cover most of the surface. The color of the crust is a rich gold.

The density of the bread is above average, there is no crust to speak of in terms of feel, the loaf feels a bit spongy.

The outside smell is not bad, strong from the sesame seeds, with a significant component of wheat/country grains, probably from the barley.

The cut is very easy, and making nice slices is also very easy.

The crumb is fairly dark, dense but with fair-sized bubbles, a number of grains visible.

The inside smell is pleasant, perhaps barley again.

Taste

I can't really describe the texture of the crust because there is effectively none. The outside of the bread is covered with sesame seeds, and that gives it a nice flavor.

The crumb is quite pleasant, nice consistency, clean taste. A pleasant surprise for a somewhat unappealing appearance.

Conclusion

I wish the presentation was more attractive, but other than that this turns out to be a fairly decent bread.
