Appearance
This bread comes in the standard Albertson's waxed paper bag, which I don't really like because it doesn't let the bread breathe. The general appearance is very plain, very industrial. The crust is flat, the color is OK but not flattering. The loaf is not very dense, the crust is a bit harder than you'd expect from the look. The loaf is reasonably resilient. The smell is passable to mediocre, not horrible but far from great. The bread cuts reasonably well. The inside smell is the same: industrial bread. The body is white and fluffy. Taste
The taste is not very good, but not horrible. The consistency is mediocre. The crust is much too soft to be interesting, and the overall taste is bland and extremely boring. Nutrition
No nutrition information, but the list of ingredients is *horrifying* : I don't think I have ever seen so many supplements and agents in a bread before. I would have given it a C if it was not for that. Conclusion
I have nothing against Albertson's -- I really don't. If they make a good bread, I hope to find it some day. But this is not it. In fact, I would go as far as saying that I could make a better bread. That's quite a claim, because I kinda suck at it. |
