Appearance
The bread comes in a plain (unwaxed) paper bag. The general appearance is average, with a nice color. The crust is flat and has no ridges, which gives it a lack of dimension. It is too smooth for my taste. Also, it is slightly shiny, which I don't care for, although it may help keep the bread fresh a bit longer. The density is average for a baguette. The loaf is resilient, does not feel too soft. The smell is weak but pleasant. The loaf is easy to cut, and gives nice-looking slices. The body is a nice light tan, with no visible grains, which is expected. Taste
I was surprised to find out that the crust turns out to be too soft for my taste. The taste was OK but not memorable. The body is fluffy as expected in a baguette, and melts quickly in the mouth. However, the taste is weak and unsatisfying. The consistency is nice but without a fuller taste, is not as enjoyable as it could be. Nutrition
No nutrition information. Only natural ingredients are used, which I highly approve of, except for the addition of vitamin C, which seems unnecessary. Conclusion
As baguettes go, this is perhaps slightly above average, since at least it has a firm body. The crust is however too weak and the body definitely needs some kind of flavor. |
